Diamond in the …

The Daily O’Collegian at Oklahoma State University wrote a fairly clever (front-page) headline in its Monday edition. The question is whether it’s over-the-top in its cuteness. The story is about the opening of a new strip club, and the headline plays on the old cliche “diamond in the rough.” Instead of using “rough,” the students used another word that rhymes with it and refers (perhaps derogatorily) to a part of the female anatomy. Read it HERE. I’m sure a lot of folks read the story because of the headline. But, to be honest, I’m sure most folks would’ve read a story about a strip club anyway. I commend the students creativity. I’m not so sure I agree with the decision, though. That said, it is a student publication written for a college-aged audience, so maybe it’s absolutely OK.

It all reminds me of the famous Seinfeld episode referenced below.
